Andrews has been announced as ‘Partner of Choice’ at Poplar Primary School in Merton Park and will support the school in its events, including the Summer Fete, over the next five years. The relationship was given a notable launch with the unveiling of a new community scooter park at the school on Friday July 7 and was quickly followed with members of the Andrews’ team supporting the school’s Summer Fete on Saturday July 8.
Speaking at the opening of the scooter park, Adam Parsons, Branch Manager at Andrews in Morden, said:
“Andrews is built on a culture of social philanthropy and giving back to the communities in which we operate. Having had a branch in Morden for almost 70 years it, therefore, seems fitting that we have forged this enduring relationship with nearby Poplar Primary School. This relationship is planned to last for at least five years, and we hope beyond, and will allow us to really get to know the school, its staff and its families.”

Andrews has committed £10,000 to Poplar Primary School over the coming five years and Chris Chapman, Managing Director at Andrews Estate Agents, adds:
“It is important for members of the Andrews’ team to become part of their local communities and this newly agreed relationship with Poplar Primary School is a great demonstration of that at work. I’m looking forward to seeing how Adam and his team get to know the school and local families better as they support their key events over the coming years.”
Katharine Davies, Headteacher at Poplar Primary School, negotiated the relationship with Adam and concludes:
“Having the support of a local business such as Andrews makes a significant difference to what we can deliver to our pupils. Their commitment to support us, not only financially but also with their time and enthusiasm, means an enormous amount to us all.
“From the children’s perspective, the scooter park is such a fabulous facility to have at their disposal and one that, I believe, is unique to a primary school in this country. I’m confident that its legacy will be enjoyed by many generations of local families to come.”
The community scooter park at Poplar Primary School was officially unveiled on Friday July 7th 2017 and followed the next day by the school’s annual Summer Fete.
